18th July to 20th August 2007
Suzy Lamplugh Trust delivered an intergenerational project in Bellingham (Lewisham) to challenge stereotypes and preconceived notions about young / older people in relation to personal safety risks and crime. The aims of the project were to encourage participants to take an active role in their own personal safety, gain an appreciation of others’ personal safety issues and views of matters of personal safety and create a safer and more pleasant community for the residents to live in.
These aims were achieved through separate and joint workshops with a group of older people and a group of young people from the Bellingham area. It is hoped that we will run further intergenerational projects in the future. Email training@suzylamplugh.org if you would like to know more about this project.
