Dr Emma Short 

Emma is based at the London Metropolitan University, and has worked in Higher Education for over 20 years. She is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS). As Director of the National Centre for Cyberstalking Research (NCCR) she is a researcher in online behaviour, and currently leading a Home Office funded project designed to improve capabilities in the police response to cyber harassment and cyberstalking. The NCCR is a multidisciplinary team investigating the methods, nature and impact of online abuse. Emma’s research has identified that the impact of sustained online threat which characterises cyberstalking, poses significant risk, with many victims reporting clinical levels of PTSD. 

Emma is also a registered Health Psychologist with the Health and Care Professionals Council and has many years’ experience of working with people to achieve change where they have concerns about their lifestyle and health.

 

Lucy Thomas

Lucy is a senior commercial manager at a major global energy company, with more than 16 years’ experience in local, regional and global roles. She has worked for business divisions related to fuels, industrial lubricants, finance products and with teams across the organisation such as Sales, Customer Service, Research & Development and Supply Chain. Lucy has had a specific focus on marketing and business development during her career, with expertise in commercial partnerships; resellers and distributors; brand management and communications; and new product development.
