Do You have a Story to Tell?

As a charity, our aim is to raise awareness of the personal safety and to give people the knowledge they need to lead safer lives. One of the most effective – and cost-effective – ways of doing this is to promote these messages through the media.

The media approach the Trust frequently for our expertise and experience in the field of personal safety. However the one thing that would increase their interest in the Trust even further, and result in an increased profile for personal safety messages, would be if we had ‘case studies’. The media’s most common request is if we have anyone they could talk to/interview who has experienced a violent or aggressive incident and escaped or who managed to avoid an attack due to taking the right precautions. These stories have far more impact on readers than dry quotes and statistics and therefore are in
great demand.

At present we have very few of these and would clearly benefit from more. If you know of anyone who has a good personal safety story to tell and who would be happy to talk to the media, our press office would love to hear from you. Likewise, if you think we should be highlighting any particular personal safety issue in the media, then please email our press office at press@suzylamplugh.org. All suggestions would be most welcome.
