Information for children and young people

We all want to go out and about and enjoy ourselves but we also want to stay safe from violence or aggression. The best way to do both is to take control of our personal safety.

It needs 3 things for a violent or aggressive incident to happen – a perpetrator (the person who causes the violence or aggression), the victim (the person the violence or aggression is aimed at) and an opportunity. If you take away the opportunity, the incident can’t happen – and personal safety is all about reducing the opportunities so that you reduce the chances of becoming a victim. As Alexander would say ‘Seemples!!’
