The Suzy Lamplugh Trust has been approached by a number of individuals and local community groups about their concerns regarding the changes in street lighting in their villages, towns and cities. We have been monitoring the changes and have made Freedom of Information requests to all councils in the UK for details about any previous or planned changes to their street lighting situation.

The Suzy Lamplugh Trust on behalf of the National Stalking Consortium has released preliminary research detailing a lack of understanding in relation to behaviours that constitute stalking within the Crown Prosecution Service, HM Courts and Tribunals Service, and the judiciary, leading to an appallingly low number of charges, and an even lower number of convictions.

An Advocate for Every Victim

We recommend that the Victims and Prisoners Bill makes specific reference to Independent Stalking Advocates by updating Section 12 of the Bill to include ‘stalking services’ as a relevant victim support service and that commitments are made to issue guidance on this role, as well as on IDVAs and ISVAs.
