These open courses held in London throughout the year are aimed at individual lone workers, charities and small businesses who want to give staff an overview of personal safety issues and lone working but don't have enough staff to warrant an in-house course

On this course delegates will learn how to:

  • Define personal safety and state why it is important
  • Describe any specific personal safety concerns that you may face at work
  • State your greatest personal safety risks at work
  • Explain best practice strategies for reducing and controlling personal safety risks
  • Describe early warning signs of aggression and violence
  • Use at least three strategies for de-escalation and defusion
  • State the possible effects of violence or aggression at work and describe an employers’ responsibilities to take measures to support staff
  • Recognise the importance of reporting and recording incidents of violence or aggression
  • Put knowledge into action with a personal action plan for improving personal safety at work
