We are seeking a part-time business manager to cover maternity leave on the National Stalking Helpline. The Helpline responds to up to 5,000 contacts from individuals affected by stalking each year, as well as delivering a dedicated advocacy service. This role is pivotal in the ongoing success of the service and will feed into policy, funding reports, and help ensure the efficient delivery of this essential service.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job title: Business Manager, National Stalking Helpline

Location: The Foundry 17 – 19 Oval Way London SE11 5RR

Hours: 3 days per week

Contract: Fixed term 1 year (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £32,000, pro rata

Direct Reports: None

Reports to: Head of Policy and Development

Purpose of job: To provide business management for the day to day activities of the National Stalking Helpline and phone-based casework support for victims of stalking.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. To work closely with the Helpline Operational Manager to ensure all service responsibilities are met.
  2. To provide regular written reports on statistical data regarding service usage and performance, trends, and specific issues raised by those seeking advice
  3. To lead on providing service reports to funders, in conjunction with the Helpline Operational Manager, Fundraising Manager, and Head of Finance.
  4. To ensure that the service is regularly and thoroughly evaluated
  5. To ensure the service and it’s systems are compliant with GDPR and any other relevant legislation
  6. To oversee the DBS check process for all Suzy Lamplugh staff and volunteers, where needed
  7. To represent the Helpline with external partners, maintaining contact and developing partnerships where appropriate
  8. To work closely with the Helpline Operational Manager to update guidance and published material as appropriate, overseeing the website, social media and marketing of the helpline service
  9. To work closely with the Helpline Business Manager and commercial team to develop opportunities for funding, growth, and expansion
  10. To liaise with the media behalf of the Trust where necessary
  11. To deliver training and consultancy on stalking
  12. To support colleagues to develop policy lines and training materials on issues related to stalking and harassment
  13. To work at all times within the employment policies and procedures of Suzy Lamplugh Trust
  14. To attend supervision, team meetings and appraisals as appropriate
  15. To actively contribute to the National Stalking Helpline’s social media presence
  16. To ensure the efficient day to day running of the service
  17. To carry out any other duties as set by the Trust

Experience

  • Experience of policy development (S)
  • Experience of writing basic statistical reports (S)
  • Experience of working with issues of gender based violence including either domestic violence, and/or stalking and harassment
  • Experience of supporting fundraising teams to write bids and reports for funding (S)
  • Experience of monitoring performance against targets and deliverables (S)
  • Experience of managing and monitoring budgets (S)
