Job Description

PURPOSE OF JOB:

To generate support for the development and sustainability of Suzy Lamplugh Trust services

To help the team meet annual fundraising income generation targets

MAIN DUTIES:

Work with the senior fundraiser and commercial manager to project manage the writing of effective bids/applications to prospective supporters, trusts and any other bodies that may be able to support the work of the trust.

Manage the co-ordination of team contributions to large bids which are written by the senior fundraiser

Manage the co-ordination, planning and implementation of fundraising events

Respond to small scale bids/applications to prospective supporters, trusts or any other bodies that may be able to support the work of the trust.

Respond to enquiries from prospective and current supporters

Take responsibility for maintaining and updating the fundraising database so it holds an accurate record of fundraising and income generation contacts and activities

To regularly correspond with supporters, ensuring all are responded to in a timely and appropriate manner with thank you letters, updates and news.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • An understanding of the voluntary sector and fundraising
  • An ability to build rapport and effectively manage relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to communicate confidently and appropriately with people at different levels
  • Experience of running events (desirable)
  • Experience of office based working within a customer facing environment and excellent customer service skills
  • Experience of responding to small bid applications
  • Thorough working knowledge of MS office applications and experience of database management.
  • Ability to undertake research via the internet and other sources
  • Ability to organise own workload, set own priorities and adopt a problem solving approach to the work in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A willingness to learn and an adaptable working approach
  • Experience of leading and delivering different fundraising approaches
