Head of Finance and Administration, Vauxhall

£43,268-£47,389 per annum depending on experience


Suzy Lamplugh Trust is a growing charity, set to continue to increase its income from social enterprise and an increasingly diverse mix of fundraising activities.

Following the departure of our current head of finance to a larger charity, we are looking for a hardworking and dynamic individual to lead Suzy Lamplugh Trust’s financial management, develop the finance and administration team and play a key role in managing financial and legal risk to the organisation, including overseeing the Trust’s HR policies.
Educated to degree level, the successful candidate will be CCAB-qualified, or part-qualified (depending on experience), and will bring proven experience of financial management.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical and strategic planning skills with an eye for detail, a can-do approach and the ability to relate to and communicate with colleagues across departments. You will particularly need to be able to communicate financial concepts to non-finance colleagues and to build collegiate relationships.

You will be a key member of the leadership team for the organisation, working closely with the chief executive to develop long-term financial plans for the organisation, and deputising for her on occasion as required. Responsible for ensuring robust financial management of and reporting on externally-funded projects, you will have an understanding of restricted funding and grant reporting requirements. 

As a key colleague to the head of business development, you also will ideally bring experience of working in a commercial environment.
You will lead a team of three part-time staff. You will be equally comfortable supporting and coaching your team, focussing on the detail of the accounts and presenting to members of the board.
