Suzy Lamplugh Trust is the UK’s leading personal safety charity which was set up in 1986 following the disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh, a young estate agent, while she was at work. For over 30 years, the Trust has championed personal safety as a life skill and a public policy priority.

Our policy and development team needs a dynamic and efficient team-player to volunteer as an intern for 2-3 days a week. The policy intern will support our work on stakeholder engagement projects; help with new research focusing on safety and public transport; assist with our ground-breaking work on reform of stalking legislation; and give administrative support to the evaluation of our charitable projects.

We are looking for a confident, people person to join our team as a Policy and Projects Intern for 3 months. The role will include:

  • Supporting communications officer on a stakeholder engagement project
  • Monitoring Parliamentary activity surrounding Stalking Protection Orders
  • Conducting in house research around personal safety and stalking
  • Communicating with people by phone and by email
  • Minute taking and attending meetings
  • Administrative support of the Policy and Development team

Full training will be given so previous experience in these areas is not mandatory.


  • Research skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage own work load
  • IT literate on a number of Microsoft packages

You should be:

  • able to commit to two days a week (around 14 hours) for at least 3 months.
