Purpose of job

To deliver a range of stalking training courses to Trust clients, design and develop new, or tailor-made courses as per market demand, update course content as a part of wider quality control/assurance measure. To provide bespoke consultancy project support and collaborate with a range of statutory and non-statutory clients and stakeholders. To use networking opportunities to generate new and repeat business, and to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as other external consultants.

 

Duties and accountabilities

  • Deliver a range of stalking safety training packages, including awareness raising talks, standard courses, and one-day or two-day bespoke training events.
  • Use existing content to tailor-make and deliver Suzy Lamplugh Trust training sessions that meet deliverables agreed with clients, leading to effective learning outcomes and positive impact for delegates.
  • Where necessary collaborate with internal stakeholders and experts to design and develop new content or update existing content as part of annual quality assurance processes.
  • Work with Trust colleagues and external clients on bespoke consultancy work, including but not limited to delivery of focus groups, production of appraisal reports, conducting victim focused reviews, and implementation of multi-agency perpetrator intervention operational frameworks, with overall project management responsibility.
  • Work with clients where necessary to carry out needs assessments and propose matching solutions to client requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships, as well as network with potential and existing clients for the benefit of the Trust.
  • Report takeaways from sessions to the senior management team, including delegate feedback regarding training model and quality of content, as well as any sector specific intelligence or information that may surface, which may be of importance to the Trust. This may include, though not limited to upcoming client initiatives, opportunities for joint working, and operational challenges relating to specific activities such as Stalking Protection Orders.
  • Deliver high quality training sessions and ensure feedback gathered or any resulting monitoring or evaluation data is used to improve content on an ongoing basis.
  • Prepare handouts relating to all stalking training products offered by the Trust to motivate clients and help greater embedding of knowledge in delegates, whilst protecting the Trust’s intellectual property rights.
  • Work with the commercial team and prospective clients to determine the most effective training or consultancy solution, or mode of delivery, in order to create best outcomes, and secure potential future opportunities with clientele.
  • From time to time support the commercial and policy teams with narratives that can be used for better marketing and promotion of the stalking product set.
  • Be an ambassador for The Suzy Lamplugh Trust, understand the organisation’s mission, vision, and values, and keep up to date with the latest developments in the VAWG sector and the stalking landscape.
  • Adhere to The Suzy Lamplugh Trust’s policies and procedures at all times, monitoring the effectiveness of existing approaches and protocols for consistency in good practice and retaining of the Trust’s credibility and competitive edge.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Senior Management Team or Head of Business Development and Partnerships.

 

Person specification Skills, knowledge and experience

Essential

  • At least three years’ experience in working within the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) environment at a senior level.
  • Detailed knowledge of Stalking with experience of providing case oversight and supervision.
  • Experience in delivery of training in VAWG sector.
  • Knowledge of different learning styles, how these impact on delivery, and how to mitigate against this in a live session.
  • Ability to speak in public with confidence.
  • An awareness of the impact of stalking and how this may present during training.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with internal and external contacts.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage own time and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Ability to develop bespoke projects depending on requirements from client
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral – good knowledge of body language.
  • Ability to work outside office hours as reasonably required.
  • Willing to travel around the UK with overnight stays where necessary.

Teaching Qualification which can include:

  • Level 3 Award, Level 4 Certificate or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
  • Bachelor of Education (BEd)

  • Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS)

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
