Purpose of Job:                                 To take Suzy Lamplugh Trust’s personal safety messages and training to a variety of audiences across the UK, including to young people, community and commercial organisations, by working with partners in the voluntary and community sectors.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To deliver projects in line with funding secured, including but not limited to:
    1. Peer education projects;
    2. Work with children in schools;
    3. Other youth projects;
    4. Commercial organisations;
    5. Other community organisations/groups
  1. To develop networks in the voluntary and community sectors with which personal safety projects and services can be delivered.
  2. To monitor spending and ensure any projects and services are delivered within the allocated budget.
  3. To develop delivery plans and ensure that appropriate data is captured and analysed in order to evaluate the effectiveness of, and report on the outcomes of, any projects and services delivered.
  4. To work with the rest of the policy & development team and fundraising staff to develop ideas and costed proposals for new projects and services.
  5. To support colleagues in the policy & development team in developing policy positions and personal safety messages for the Trust, drawing on experience of youth/community development work and delivering personal safety projects and services on the ground.
  6. To work at all times within the employment policies and procedures of Suzy Lamplugh Trust.
  7. To undertake any other appropriate duties as requested.
  8. To develop and maintain robust knowledge of personal safety, including stalking knowledge, through the completion of Suzy Lamplugh Trust's Train the Trainer course and undertaking any other training as required.
  9. To attend supervision meetings, appraisals, team meetings and strategic away days.

Knowledge and abilities

  1. An understanding of the importance of maintaining clear boundaries in service delivery and of confidentiality and safeguarding issues.
  2. Ability to organise own workload, set own priorities and adopt a problem-solving approach to the work in order to meet deadlines.
  3. Good written and verbal communication skills. The ability to communicate confidently and appropriately with people at different levels.
  4. Good working knowledge of MS office applications.
  5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  6. Ability to manage a budget and produce basic statistical reports.
