40 year anniversary since the disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh On 28th July 2026, we mark 40 years since Suzy Lamplugh disappeared. 40 years should have been enough. Enough to stop stalking. Enough to stop harassment. Enough to stop abuse. Yet every day, lives continue to be devastated by violence, aggression and abuse. On 28 July 2026, it will be 40 years since Suzy Lamplugh disappeared after leaving her office to meet a client. She never came home.Suzy's disappearance changed the entire landscape around personal safety in the UK. It led to the creation of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, a charity dedicated to preventing violence, aggression and abuse, supporting victims of stalking, and helping people live safer lives. Forty years should have been enough. Enough to stop stalking. Enough to stop harassment. Enough to stop abuse. Yet every day, thousands of people continue to live in fear. Victims of stalking alter their daily routines, leave jobs, move homes, and lose relationships in an attempt to escape persistent and unwanted behaviour. Our #40YearsShouldHaveBeenEnough is about more than remembering Suzy. It is about ensuring that her legacy continues to drive change. Forty years on, we remember Suzy, stand with those affected by stalking, harassment and abuse today, and renew our commitment to creating a safer society. Together, we can help ensure that one day, forty years really will have been enough. We are taking action.
